There is something immediately recognizable about LIEVRE RUNNING. The soft colors, experimental imagery, unconventional styling, and carefully considered garments feel closer to an independent fashion label than a traditional performance brand. Yet running remains at the center of everything it creates. Founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in late 2024, LIEVRE RUNNING is part of a developing generation of independent athletic brands exploring the relationship between movement, design, and personal expression.
The brand began as a project between two brothers who shared an interest in running, engineering, and art. With backgrounds in engineering and a mutual appreciation for design, they set out to create clothing that could meet the technical demands of running while allowing room for creativity. Their idea was relatively straightforward: performance and aesthetics did not have to exist separately. A garment could be developed with the same attention to construction and materials as traditional athletic equipment while carrying the visual identity of something more personal.
That approach eventually became the foundation of LIEVRE RUNNING and its philosophy, “Engineered for the Art of Running.” The phrase communicates the balance the brand continues to explore. Engineering provides the technical foundation, while art shapes the way the clothing looks, feels, and is presented.
Even the name carries a connection to the philosophy. Lièvre is the French word for hare, inspired by the fable The Tortoise and the Hare. In the story, the hare represents speed and natural ability, while the tortoise demonstrates the importance of patience and consistency. Together, they offer two different perspectives on progress. For LIEVRE, the reference provides a way to think about running beyond finishing times and competition. Speed has its place, but so do discipline, endurance, and the experience of moving forward.
This relationship between performance and expression becomes especially apparent in the brand’s clothing. LIEVRE has developed a recognizable visual language through lightweight running layers, technical caps, relaxed silhouettes, and an increasingly adventurous use of color. Shades of blue, washed pink, bright green, and subtle neutrals appear throughout its collections, sometimes accompanied by stripes, floral illustrations, or understated graphics. The garments retain the familiarity of everyday running essentials, but the details give them a character of their own.
Beneath the visual direction is a genuine consideration for functionality. The brand’s technical apparel includes lightweight stretch fabrics, breathable constructions, and materials selected to support movement. Its Art of Running caps, for example, use water resistant technical nylon, six panel construction, and adjustable rear cord fastenings. The Rose d’Amour long sleeve incorporates breathable polyester and elastane fabric with laser cut ventilation and a relaxed fit intended to allow unrestricted movement. Earlier performance layers have also used French milled stretch fabrics designed with moisture management and comfort in mind.
These details are important because LIEVRE’s interest in fashion does not remove the practical responsibilities of running clothing. The pieces still need to accommodate repetitive movement, changing temperatures, and the physical demands of training. Its technical choices make clear that the creative direction is intended to work alongside performance rather than replace it.
The brand’s collections have become a place to explore ideas that are not typically associated with running apparel. Its Spring/Summer 2026 Pour l’Amour de la Course collection, loosely translated as For the Love of Running, introduced a softer visual identity through washed pink performance tops and coordinating headwear. The collection approached running through the language of affection, using color and texture to reflect a more emotional relationship with the activity.
The Rose d’Amour long sleeve became one of the collection’s central pieces. Its washed pink treatment and slightly irregular appearance gave the technical garment a more personal quality, while the performance construction remained suited to running. Alongside it, the Art of Running cap continued one of the brand’s most recognizable silhouettes. Rather than introducing an entirely new category of clothing, LIEVRE found ways to reinterpret familiar pieces through relatively small changes in color, material, and presentation.
That willingness to explore different references became even more evident with Le Langage des Fleurs, or The Language of Flowers. Drawing from botanical imagery and the historical association of flowers with communication and emotion, the collection introduced illustrated floral headwear, colorful technical caps, and Lyocell T-shirts in shades including apple green, soft pink, and calla lily white. The floral designs extended beyond traditional sports graphics, bringing something delicate and almost romantic into a category usually associated with utility.
The choice of flowers was particularly interesting. Flowers have little immediate connection to performance statistics or athletic achievement, yet they naturally relate to ideas of growth, changing seasons, and movement through the environment. Within LIEVRE’s world, these references make sense. The brand appears interested in the experiences surrounding running just as much as the activity itself.
Its visual campaigns reinforce that perspective. Rather than relying exclusively on action photography or conventional athletic imagery, LIEVRE frequently presents its clothing through portraits, natural elements, carefully composed still lifes, and editorial styling. The atmosphere can feel quiet, occasionally abstract, and deliberately removed from the competitive intensity common in performance marketing. The result is an identity that allows the clothing to exist in both athletic and creative environments.
There is also something significant about the brand’s approach to releasing products. Instead of depending entirely on a permanent range of familiar designs, LIEVRE develops focused capsules around individual themes. Each collection builds on the same foundation of running essentials while introducing a different visual idea. This approach gives the label space to experiment without abandoning the technical pieces that establish its identity.
Although still relatively young, LIEVRE RUNNING has already begun establishing an international presence. Its distribution includes independent retailers in France, South Korea, and Taiwan, placing the Geneva label within a wider network of specialty running and design focused stores. These spaces have become increasingly important to smaller athletic brands, offering an audience interested in the relationship between product, community, and culture.
LIEVRE’s emergence also reflects a wider development within running. The sport has always had its own traditions, communities, and identities, but the clothing surrounding it is becoming increasingly varied. Independent labels are introducing different approaches to design, and runners are paying closer attention to how their equipment reflects their interests outside of training. Running apparel is no longer limited to a single visual language.
For LIEVRE, this creates an opportunity to develop something distinct. Its products are designed for movement, but its identity reaches into photography, fashion, art, and everyday life. The brand does not need to abandon the technical foundations of running to participate in those conversations. Instead, it uses those foundations as the starting point for creative experimentation.
What makes LIEVRE RUNNING worth watching is not simply its ability to produce attractive running clothing. It is the consistency of the idea behind it. From the symbolism of its name to the construction of its garments and the artistic references throughout its campaigns, the brand is developing its own interpretation of what running can look like.
Still early in its development, LIEVRE has time to expand on that identity and determine how far its approach can go. But the foundation is already visible. Running provides the purpose, engineering provides the structure, and creativity gives the clothing its personality.
For LIEVRE RUNNING, the art of running is found in everything that makes the experience personal.
